The Bid For A Cure auction is scheduled for April 2010 via eBay.  I will continue to post updates on a regular basis.

The "Hamlet" Playbill is signed by the entire current cast of the Broadway production, including Mr. Jude Law.  I also received a large photo card, doublesided, signed by Mr. Jeff Gordon.  Yesterday, I received a signed photo of Jim Carrey (PP).

More Arrivals...

It was a great day to visit USPS today!  I missed the open PO hours on Saturday, so I had to practice some patience and pick up my weekend packages today.  :)  Arriving today were two Playbills, one signed by Daniel Craig and the other signed by Jude Law.  I also received a signed photo of Vivica A. Fox.  Henry Winkler sent a very special package, containing a few rare items: a 3x5 photo card of "Fonz" that the studio used for fan mail in the 70's, a signed baseball card of himself as Fonz (only 600 signed copies worldwide), and a team baseball card of the "Happy Days" cast signed by him (only 1600 signed copies worldwide).  He also generously included a signed, inscribed photo.   My sincerest thanks to Mr. Craig, Mr. Law, Ms. Fox, and Mr. Winkler.  It is through your generosity that this auction will be a success for the Komen Foundation!

Every Penny Raised...

is a penny closer to finding a cure.  The other day, I was having a conversation with someone at work.  He told me about a relative of his who has stage IV breast cancer.  She is a young woman, about my age, with a family.  Two young daughters.  Continuing with 6 hour chemo treatments every week, not knowing how much time she has left.  I was so saddened to hear this.  It really affected me.  I know the cure is out there, waiting to be discovered.  It reaffirms just how important breast cancer research is.  Every penny raised is a penny closer to finding the cure. 

I have received such great support for this auction so far, and I want to say thank you.  Family and friends, for their encouragement and support.  Actors, actresses, musicians, sports stars, their staff, cast/crew of television shows and films, and so many others involved in the entertainment industry, for their generous donations, encouraging words, and overall recognition that breast cancer research is such an important cause.  It is so inspirational, knowing that working together, we CAN and WILL make a difference.

Three donations arrived in the mail today!  The first was a cast-signed script of the pilot "Breaking Bad" episode.  I also received an autographed photo of Katy Perry, as well as a photo signed by Doris Day.  What a great day!
